Step by step instructions: 

I made a mounting plate for a Logitec NX-50 mouse for the ring sensor of Globe4D. This mouse has a handy notch along its sides as you can see in the picture. The 'original' mounting plate was made from aluminium but was made in a wrong size. I measured the thing and redrew it Corel Draw X5. Then I copy-pasted the design to Corel Draw 12 from where I operated the lasercutter machine. I tried different kinds of thin triplex and also plexiglass. My final settings where: dot 40 40 .01 .06 for 2mm transparent plexiglass.

Please add the machine settings you used to the machine settings page of the machine you used. 

Failures: 

This could also be something worth trying with a 3D-printer since it is actually 3D because of the spacers but I think lasercutting is flaster and gives more flexibility because you can choose how many spacers you want to use.
